Apparatus

We have a wide range of apparatus to serve our community. The Dodge County Office of Emergency Management has formed all communities in the county area alphabetically and given them a 2 digit designation. All fire units in Beaver Dam begin with "12" as the designator for our community. Different units are further subdivided into the following categories:

2-DIGIT RADIO CODE DESCRIPTION
01-50 Department Personnel (01-Chief, 02-Asst.Chief, etc)
51-59 Ambulances
61-69 Pumpers
71-79 Aerial Devices/Special Use Vehicles
81-89 Utility/Departmental Vehicles (grass fire, Chief's car, etc.)
91-99 Tankers

Therefore, radio calls from "1265" can be identified by command, dispatch, and scene personnel as a Pumper from Beaver Dam.
