More Information

The City of Beaver Dam Senior Center Woodshop is located inside the Don Smith Learning Academy (400 E Burnett St.) in Beaver Dam.  Woodshop hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 12:00pm.
Our signature product is the toy Christmas car. We work very hard all year long to cut out, sand and assemble these cars to hand out to the kids at the Annual Holiday Parade in downtown Beaver Dam. Each year we pick out a different model of car to make.  Volunteers are always needed to help with these cars.
Other great products of the woodshop are the bird houses, bird feeders, bat houses and butterfly houses.  Click here to see our core products, which are in stock and ready to sell.
We also do special projects upon request. Just bring in a diagram or blueprint and we'd be happy to help you out!  From gun cases, to jewelry boxes, chairs, etc!  Click here to see the many specials projects we have done in the past.
Do you enjoy working with wood?  If so, visit the woodshop and get to know volunteer Woodshop Manager Terry Appenfeldt and the crew...they'd be happy to show you around!  We are always looking for volunteers to help with special projects.  You don't need to be an experienced carpenter, but a little experience is helpful.  We need help with drilling holdes, assembling, staining, packaging, etc.  If you are interested, please give Terry a call at 920-887-4639.
The woodshop accepts donations of wood for bird houses and special projects.  All donations must be approved by Terry, so please call before coming!
