Beaver Dam public library service has enriched and sustained the community for over 130 years. Opening in 1884, our library was the first library in the United States to have an "open stacks" policy, allowing borrowers to browse and pick books.

Library Addendum: Return to Full-Service | Last Update 7/16/2021

The Library has developed an addendum of best practices to the Library Reopening Plan. The principles of personal safety, risk mitigation, transparency, and industry standards when applicable continue to guide the Library's steps to a return to full-service. 

The Library Board voted to move to Stage 5 at the July 16, 2021 Library Board Meeting.
