The Department of Public Works (DPW) operates under the guidance of the operations committee. The DPW provides maintenance and construction service operations on City facilities including:

  • Street repair
  • Snow plowing
  • Street lighting
  • Traffic signals
  • Oversees city's waste and recycling programs
  • Stormwater management systems
  • Conducts some maintenance & repair to city's sanitary sewer and water systems

During select times, yard waste is collected for residents by the City of Beaver Dam Public Works crews. Yard waste can also be disposed of by city residents year round at the Public Works Garage. Check out the guidelines for collection and drop off.

The Department of Public Works maintains all city-owned intersection traffic signals and ornamental street lights on metal poles. Street lights on wooden poles are maintained by Alliant Energy.
