How is the Service Provided?

The City of Beaver Dam has contracted with GFL Environmental for garbage and recycling collection services from residential single family through four-unit properties. These collection services are not provided for non-residential or properties that do not have residential buildings.

What does it cost?

Starting 2023 residential garbage and recycling collection services will be paid by homeowners on their utility bill. The quarterly charge is $45.50. To learn more about this new utility charge, use the  Frequently Asked Questions link.    

Fast Facts About the Service:
  1. What to put it in: Contractor supplied 65 or 95 gallon wheeled cart are the only containers accepted due to the automated cart system. Resident has a choice of the size of the cart.
  2. How to put it out: Cart must face the street as indicated by the arrow. It must be fully accessible and not blocked by parked cars. Do not place carts in the street. There should be at least 3 feet between cart and any other object such as a mailbox, light post, other cart, etc.

  3. When to put it out: The provided waste containers must be curbside by 7:00 a.m. on scheduled collection day but not sooner than 24 hours prior to scheduled collection.

  4. When to have it put away: Emptied waste containers need to be removed within 24 hours after collection day.
